Matthew Chambers (born 20 August 1968 in London) is an English actor and director. He is most well known for playing the role of Dr. Daniel Granger in the BBC daytime soap opera Doctors.

Early life

Born in London in 1968, Chambers always wanted a career on television, and he attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art from 1998-2000.

Acting career

Chambers began his television career in 2001 with a role in the BBC2 version of the comedy People Like Us opposite David Tennant. From 2003 he had a recurring role in the Sky One series Mile High. The same year he also appeared in the TV film Final Demand and an episode of the BBC1 drama series Holby City (Chambers would appear in a second episode in 2006).

Over the next couple of years he went on to appear in series such as As If, Family Affairs, and Doctor Who (in the episode "42"). He also had a role in a modern-day adaptation of Lady Godiva, which was released in 2008.

Since 9 July 2007, Chambers has played Dr. Daniel Granger in the BBC daytime soap opera Doctors.[1] He has also directed a number of episodes, and is developing his career as a director.

In October 2009, Chambers appeared on the BBC's game show, Hole in the Wall.

Personal life

Resident in Oxford, he and his wife have two children. Chambers is a supporter of Liverpool F.C.[2]
